So yesterday Lliam was finishing his dinner and said something unintelligible through a mouthful of food. Will's ears perked up, and he asked me if Lliam was saying "Netflix." I was, after all, wearing a Netflix shirt. We asked Lliam to say it again, and sure enough, well...see for yourself:
OK, so at his stage of development, new words are nothing to bat an eye at. The kid practically repeats everything we say. The amazing thing is that to our knowledge, neither Will nor I have ever pointed out the Netflix logo to him. I didn't even know that he was aware of the word! So how in the heck does this kid, who's not even 2, point directly at my shirt and say Netflix!?! I asked him what the individual letters were and he was able to name them, but that still doesn't explain how he recognized the logo. All I have to say is, be careful of every little thing you say or do around toddlers. The sponge simile doesn't even begin to do their knowledge inhalation abilities justice.
