Tonight was mom & Lliam night. I took Lliam to Denny's cafe and he ordered chocolate chip pancakes. We played rock paper scissors followed by the hand slap game while we waited. He said that 20 questions made him tired. Over the course of 30 minutes, he ate all three pancakes, a strip of bacon, a sausage and two whole pieces of buttered toast. He also gulped down his glass of water plus half of mine. Every few minutes he would get up and start dancing to the song currently playing. I couldn't tell if his fellow diners were amused or annoyed. Tonight was kids eat free night, so I think we got our money's worth.
On a whim, I decided to take Lliam bowling. We stopped at the bowling alley on the way to Trader Joe's and ordered a game. I asked the clerk to put up the bumpers, and it turns out that bowling alleys are sophisticated enough that the bumpers automatically go up only when it's the turn of the person who needs them. I should have asked for bumpers on my turn. Lliam bowled a 68 on his first game. I did a miserable 56, after getting gutter ball after gutter ball. Lliam has quite a victory dance with a high-five finale. I think we'll go back.
